The Paris Record Manifesto
Paris does not need another glossy travel brochure. It does not need another list of ten hidden cafes that are actually entirely visible to anyone with an Instagram account. What it needs, and what we provide, is a factual, analytical, and unvarnished record of the city's civic and cultural life.
Our Methodology
We rely on primary sources, datasets from the Mairie de Paris, INSEE, and direct observation. When we cite a figure, it is dated. When we offer an opinion, it is grounded in evidence. We eschew the generic AI-generated slop that plagues modern publishing.
Editorial Independence
We do not accept press trips, free meals, or sponsored content. Our real estate coverage is not underwritten by agencies. Our restaurant reviews are conducted anonymously and paid for in full. This structural independence is the only guarantee of editorial integrity.
The Team
We are a small collective of journalists, data analysts, and long-term residents who grew tired of the disconnect between the lived reality of Paris and its exported image.
Corrections Policy
When we make a mistake, we correct it on the page where it occurred, with a timestamped note detailing the nature of the error and the correction. Accuracy is our only currency.
